Here are the latest Elgin pocket watches available.

Elgin was originally called the "National Watch Company". The name never stuck. The watch maker’s and public were calling them "watches from Elgin" so in 1874 they changed the company name to the “Elgin National Watch Company”.

The first  Elgin pocket watches took  about six months to produce. The B. W. Raymond model, named after one of the company founders; sold for $117 at a time when pork chops sold for three cents a pound!  A few years ago the city of Elgin  purchased the pocket watch for $15,000!
